Residents of the Government Home for Tsunami Children and a neighbouring girls orphanage in Cuddalore travel on ths bus to the Government Girls High School, Venugopalapuram in Cuddalore. ..The Government Home for Tsunami Children in Cuddalore cares for children orphaned by the 2004 tsunami. Boys stay at the home until the age of 14 when they move to a boy's hostel. Girls are cared for as long as they remain in education and are under the age of 18. There are currently 52 children staying at the home which is housed in a purpose built complex of dormitories, a hall, primary school and vocational-learning centre.
